Bear Den in Bradford

James Kidder II

Wednesday January 19, 2022, a black bear was spotted denned up on a lower flat near the interstate in Bradford Vermont. Every winter, black bears across Vermont go into a state of hibernation, where their body reduces the amount of fat and energy used, typically they will do this out of sight of humans, where they won’t be bothered by the day to day life of people. Vermont state conservation officers are aware of this situation, and have come to the conclusion that the bear is in good health, and has simply found this spot ideal for itself.
