John Dennis is currently a senior in high school and has been at Blue Mountain since preschool. He has participated in basketball, baseball, and soccer every year. He has played at the varsity level in each sport for all four high school years; he has also been named captain in each sport. During his senior year he participated in a Co-op opportunity at Royal Electric in order to work towards becoming an electrician. In the future he plans on staying at Royal Electric in order to become a licensed electrician, obtaining his journeyman’s and, eventually, his master’s license. After reaching that goal, he will reassess and maybe do something different, such as lineman school or even opening a residential/commercial service business.
Advice he would give to younger students is to “focus on yourself and your dreams. Don’t get caught up in the high school drama, and just live life the way you want to live it.” He would like to be remembered as an athlete, but also as the guy who never had to go to school during his last semester of high school. He got to go to work instead.
