BMU’s Co-Principal, Dr. John Barone, Sr. is changing jobs this coming fall.  As of July 1st, Dr. Barone will be taking over as the new Assistant Superintendent for the OESU district.

Barone claimed that he wasn’t going to take the job at first. Dr. Barone says, “I said no every time because I didn’t think it was time to leave BMU, ” but with some convincing from family,  friends, and coworkers, he changed his mind.

Dr. Barone has worked at Blue Mountain Union School for seven years. In his 1st year, he worked as a part-time consultant and then moved to curriculum director for the next two years. For the last four years at BMU, he has been co-principal with Scott Blood.  Dr. Barone supervised the middle and high school.

As assistant superintendent, Dr. Barone will be working with Mr. Randall Gawel to help all schools that are part of OESU. He won’t be working at BMU; he will be working at the office in Bradford.  BNN just learned that current superintendent Emilie Knisely will be taking Dr. Barone’s place next year, returning as BMU middle and high school principal.
