Senior Spotlight: Maggie Emerson

Ethan Gilding

Maggie Emerson has attended Blue Mountain since preschool. Because both of her parents work at Blue Mountain, she has described her school experience as “unique.”

Maggie has a very impressive resume, as she has participated in varsity soccer, varsity basketball, and varsity softball. She was named captain of the softball team her senior year. She is the class president, alongside being the vice president of the National Honor Society. She’s partaken in the Hospitality Club, HOBY, Girls State, and band. She is the editor-in-chief for her Broadcast Journalism class and will be graduating as the class of 2022 salutatorian.

Maggie would like to be remembered as a positive role model for younger students. “I am proud of where I am as a senior in high school and hope that I have positively influenced a few students in some way.” Her advice to the younger students is to “take advantage of everything BMU has to offer. BMU is a small, rural school, but there are so many ways to get involved both within the school and out in the community.”

Maggie will be attending Fairfield University to study Biology on the pre-med track.
