WELLS RIVER- Last night in varsity baseball, the Blue Mountain Bucks hosted the Rivendell Raptors in a Div. 4 Semi-Final ultimately winning 14-0. Ricky Fennimore, the left handed junior, started on the rubber for the Bucks and went 3 and 2/3 innings with 3 walks, 3 hits, 0 runs while claiming 5 strike outs. Sophomore Hayden Carle came into the game to finish the inning for Fenimore and got Rivendell’s Ashton Pierson to fly out to centerfield.  BMU’s Owen Murray came in for the 5th inning, retiring his first 2 batters then being relieved by Cameron Roy who faced the final batter that generated a ground ball back to him, sealing the win for the Bucks.

Rowan Leckerling took the loss for Rivendell Academy. The Raptors surrendered ten runs on five hits over 1 and 2/3 innings. Will Knowles came in relief for the Raptors allowing 4 hits, 4 runs, 3 walks, while claiming 2 strike outs in 2 and 1/3 innings. The Bucks were led at the plate by Sophomore Cameron Roy going 2 for 3 with a triple and a single and 2 RBIs. Rivendell’s 3 hits came off the bats of Harry Molesworth, Rowan Leckerling, and Josh Gould. The Raptors are now eliminated from the tournament and the Bucks move on to play White River Valley in a rematch of last year’s title game.  That contest will take place on Friday June 10th at Centennial Field.  The first pitch is scheduled for 6:30 pm.
