WELLS RIVER- Thursday night the Bucks hosted the 2-3 Christ Covenant Saints; due to both teams having such low numbers they agreed to play 20 quarters instead of 40-minute halves. Ultimately the Saints would come out on top beating the Bucks 5-1. The Saints were very energetic coming out of the gates scoring only minutes into the game, the Bucks in their second game of the year looked rough around the edges and very indecisive. The Bucks are a very young team only having 4 upperclassmen on the team, and having a total of 11 players. BMU coach Chris Roy stated, “We’re going to push through we have 11 kids we’re going to work.” The second half was a much better half for the Bucks with senior Cedric Schaefer scoring early into the half. The Bucks’ defense held the Saints to only one goal in the second half. The Bucks received several penalty cards and Team Capitan Cameron Roy explained ” [We need] to be more together be supportive of the other team as well always fight…..[and] never give up.” The Bucks drop to 0-2 and will play Paine Mountain on Tuesday, September 26. The rematch will be hosted again at Blue Mountain on October 2 at 4:30.
