WELLS RIVER, VT – On Thursday December 14th, the Bucks welcomed The Sharon Academy Phoenix into the Dr. Harry M Rowe Gymnasium. Ultimately, the Bucks would come out on top with a healthy win, beating Sharon Academy 72-20. From the tip to the final buzzer, this game was all BMU. BMU junior Kaydence McKean owned the paint, putting up 17 points, with 10 of those coming in the 3rd frame. She was assisted by a BMU junior, Maya Christy, who would contribute 14 points. Seniors Jordan Alley and Felicity Sulham would get their share, with Alley racking up 14 and Sulham contributing 10. Team Captain Jordan Alley added, “We focused on running the floor and getting out ahead of everyone, making our offense more crisp and just simple.” That’s just what the Bucks did, having several breakaway points off of turnovers. Headed into halftime, the Bucks led 35-6.
Coming out of the half, the Bucks picked up where they left off, showing yet another half of great basketball, putting up 37 points in the second half. But Sharon Sophomore Ava Lacalilliade decided she wanted a piece of the action, scoring 14 of Sharon’s 20 points. The Bucks improve to 2-0; they will travel to Bradford to face the Oxbow Olympians on Thursday, December 21st. Sharon drops to 1-1, and they will host White River Valley on Friday, December 16th.
