Wells River VT – Wednesday night, the 5-5 Bucks welcomed the 11-3 Woodsville Engineers into the Dr. Harry M. Rowe Gymnasium. The Bucks would beat the Engineers 39-29. The first quarter was a great display of defensive effort on both sides as Woodsville sophomore Makayla Walker and BMU senior Jordan Alley, both standouts for their respective teams, were shut down, not scoring more than two points. After one quarter of play, the Bucks led 10-6. Heading into the second quarter, we saw a repeat of the first, with neither team wavering in their defensive effort. However, by the end of the quarter, the Bucks managed to keep the Engineers at bay, making it 15-11 at the half.
Coming out of halftime, the Bucks found their stride with BMU Senior Jordan Alley leading the charge racking up a total of 6 points in the 3rd frame. The 3rd quarter ended with the Bucks slowly drawing away 28-18. The 4th quarter was all Bucks as they started off hot and never looked back keeping a steady lead with the game ending 39-29. High scorers for each team were BMU senior Jordan alley who racked up 14 points on the night. On the Woodsville side of things, junior Eliza Wagstaff finished with nine points. BMU Capitan Jordan Alley had this to say about the game “I think we played hard and tough and fought until the very end. I think we really improved from the last time we played them.
