Shannon Florentine has attended Blue Mountain since preschool. Shannon is a three-sport athlete and is involved in BMU’s Student Council, the National Honor Society, and is the Secretary for the class of 2024. This year Shannon is attending early college through the Community College of Vermont where she earned a position as a Student Ambassador. She has also been given many opportunities outside of BMU like, the Lyndon Upward Bound Program and as a Youth Engagement Leader for the Northern Prevention Coalition. Shannon’s advice for younger students at BMU is to, “Prioritize yourself and your wellbeing not others thoughts and opinions!” Shannon would like to be remembered, “as someone who was always willing to help and be involved.” After graduation Shannon plans to attend Husson University to earn a nursing degree and hopes to someday become a travel nurse.

About the Contributor

Kennedy Perrigo, Managing Editor
Coming to BMU to start her eighth grade year, Kennedy dove right into the many extracurricular activities the school offered. Currently, she is a member of the Student Council, National Honors Society, and Yearbook Committee. Not only focused on academics, Kennedy plays on BMU’s soccer and softball teams. From a young age, Kennedy has always played hockey; she carried that passion with her to BMU and became the only high school student to play for a varsity hockey team, the Kingdom Blades. When not on the field or waiting for the Zamboni, you can find Kennedy hunting, fishing, hanging out with friends, snuggling up with her French Bulldog, Boone, or avoiding her brother whom she likes to call her ‘Bother.’
