Wells River, VT—On Monday night, the Bucks hosted the undefeated Woodsville Engineers. The Engineers proved why they are undefeated by beating the Bucks and coming out on top 17-6. The Bucks sent junior Kris Fennimore to the bump in the first inning; Fennimore would allow several hits but ultimately retire the side and get out of the inning unscathed. The Bucks started hot, jumping on Woodsville starting pitcher Landon Kingsbury rolling over the lineup and scoring five runs to finish the first inning of play. In the second inning, the Engineers jumped on a hit train, scoring seven runs to put the visitors up 7-5. The Bucks were unable to respond in the second inning scoring no runs; however the Bucks were able to halt the bleeding allowing only one run in the 3rd inning. The Engineers broke the game wide open with a six run 4th inning extending to a dominant nine run lead. Woodsville senior Jack Boudreault had this to say “I thought that we hit very well and didn’t get down on ourselves after a rough first inning.” The Bucks were unable to find their stride after the 4th inning and the Engineers sealed the deal with a three run 6th inning beating the Bucks 17-6. As the Bucks fall to the Engineers they move on to host Paine Mountain Thursday May 2nd.
