Wells River- On Tuesday May 28, The Blue Mountain Bucks faced the Peoples Academy Wolves. Both teams would have a silent first inning and the Bucks would hold Wolves at bay putting up another scoreless inning in the second frame. The Bucks capitalized scratching 2 runs across in the bottom of the second inning. However, BMU senior pitcher Owen Murray began to struggle in the third inning allowing five runs making the score 5-2. In the bottom of the fourth the Bucks would tack on three runs tying up the game 5-5. The Bucks would turn to the bats yet again in the fifth inning and swipe across one run taking the lead 6-5. The Bucks brought in senior Keegan Frigon in relief in the sixth inning; Frigon would allow one hit and would strikeout one. The Bucks would follow by scoring five runs in the bottom of the sixth. The Bucks called in their closing pitcher Cameron Roy in the seventh, Roy would strike out three to win the game for the Bucks. Starting Pitcher Owen Murray would say “It was an emotionally charged game and I was filled with mixed emotions but we went out and did what we needed to do.”
