BMU High School Awards Ceremony

Wells River, VT – On Thursday, June 6th The Blue Mountain School held its annual high school awards ceremony. At this ceremony teachers hand out awards for exceptional performance and behavior and for rising stars in their classes. Students also receive awards for being members of the student council. Some of the students who received the most awards were senior Jordan Alley, senior Karli Blood, and freshman Zhijie Zhong. Zhijie won four awards, he won best effort and rising star in health, rising star in technology, and rising star in science. He says, “I was surprised when I received the awards because, I knew that I was getting an award since my brother had received the call and let me know, but I did not expect the quantity of the awards. Regardless of the surprise, I am appreciative of the recognition I received.” This shows the importance of ceremonies like these because it rewards students for doing well and makes them feel recognized for the hard work they’ve been doing. It can also encourage other students to do well so they can receive awards in future years.
