Senior Night has been a long-standing tradition at BMU, bringing together the entire school community to honor our senior athletes as they play their final home game of the season. This special occasion is about celebrating athletic achievements while recognizing the dedication, hard work, and growth these students have demonstrated throughout their high school years. This year, Blue Mountain celebrated Senior Night on Friday, October 18th
Senior Kaydence Mckean speaks on the importance of this event: “What senior night meant to me was it was the last time I was ever going to step out on my field with a group of girls that are like family.”
Coincidentally, this year’s senior night coincided with the Pink-Out game hosted by BMU’s Student Council. This game raises breast cancer awareness, supports survivors, and acknowledges those who struggle with this horrible disease. This illness resonates deeply within the community, as many members have been or are, afflicted with breast cancer. Prior to the game, student Council President Madalyn Hougton reminded the BMU community that “By raising awareness, we not only support those who are fighting this disease, but also we promote early detection which can save lives.”
This was the first Pink-Out day that BMU has hosted in a few years.
That night the Varsity Bass Fishing Team and the Varsity Girl’s Soccer team were honored. On the 19th, the Boy’s Varsity Team was also honored during their last home game of the season. Celebrating the accomplishments of our Senior athletes was a fabulous way to wrap up the season.
