Maya Christy has attended Blue Mountain since her fifth-grade year when she moved to Vermont from Texas. Maya is a tri-sport athlete, and she is a member of BMU’s Student Council. Christy attends the Riverbend Carrer and Technical Center in the Health Science program; she’s currently working towards becoming a Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA). Maya comments, “My time at BMU has helped shape me into the person I am today, and I will always be grateful for that.” Christy would like to be remembered as “the fastest girl you’ll ever race.”
Her advice for younger students is, “don’t let anyone tell you what you can and cannot do; if you put your mind to it – you can. Enjoy high school . . . it will go by quickly, and cherish the friends you have now.” After high school, Christy plans to attend a four year university to become a neonatal nurse.
