Lily McLure has attended Blue Mountain since she was three. McLure has always had a passion for music and the arts. She has enjoyed the experience of being close to the community. McLure would like to be remembered as “a person who was always myself, even if it meant standing out from others.” She would also like to be known for “Being kind and offering help to anyone who needed it.” Her advice for younger students is “take it seriously but not too seriously. What you do in school matters, but a bad grade isn’t the end of the world, and having friends and family that you are close with is just as important”. McLure plans on attending college to study Emergency Medicine and receiving her Emergency Medicine Technician (EMT) certification after high school.

Maddy Houghton, Sports Editor
Madalyn Houghton, a seasoned third-year Broadcast Journalism student editor, is eagerly counting down the days till graduation. During the past four years, Houghton has played soccer, basketball, and softball for BMU. When she’s not busy being a “sports superstar,” she works at the Newbury Village Store perfecting the art of small-town multi-tasking. Speaking of multi-tasking, Houghton also juggles various ‘full-time jobs’ including a Master Lego Car Builder and serving her unprepared friends as “Team Mom.” You’ll also find her whipping up indulgent baked goods, schooling you on the basketball court, working with the Student Council and National Honors Society, or spending time with friends and family. After graduation, Houghton plans to attend a four-year college with hopes of adding the title Athletic Trainer to her resume.
