Last night in Wells River, the Blue Mountain Bucks defeated the Oxbow Olympians with a score of 7-0. The Bucks started off hot with junior forward Evan Dennis scoring all four of his goals within the first half, one of which was scored only a few minutes after the first tap. Sophomore mid Cameron Roy also had a goal in the first, resulting in a 5-0 lead after the double whistle. Freshman mid, Kason Blood scored a goal part way through the second half, making the score 6-0.  With a commanding lead in the second half, Blue Mountain shifted a number of players into different positions, resulting in a less effective offense, with only one more goal being scored, which came off the foot of sophomore forward Cedric Schaefer, assisted by Evan Dennis. The Blue Mountain defense proved to be strong, allowing no goals. “We went into the game knowing it was going to be kind of easy, but you don’t want to have that mentality going into a game. So we played as hard as we could,” stated senior goal keeper, Ethan Gilding. The Bucks improve to 5-3 on the season as the Olympians fall to 1-8. The Bucks will host the Craftsbury Chargers on Wednesday, October 13th, at the Ron Brown Athletic Field.
