Wells River, VT- On Friday, May 29, 2025, the Blue Mountain Bucks battled Paine Mountain in a high school baseball game for the Bucks’ senior night. After recognizing BMU seniors: Kason Blood, Kris Fennimore, Riley Hatch, William Emerson, Brody Kingsbury, Ryan Metzler, and Xavier Mattoon, the Bucks took home the victory 12-2.
Blue Mountain pulled ahead in the bottom of the second on a Paine Mountain error that scored one run. Jamal Saibou kept the BMU offense rolling with a triple, sending two players home. BMU scored again on a walk issued to Myles Wohlleb, ending the second inning 4-0. Paine Mountain was able to get on the board in the top of the fourth
BMU’s Brody Kingsbury sent Kason Blood home on a fielder’s choice to second. In the bottom of the 5th, Paine Mountain got their final run from a line drive. In the top of the sixth, BMU scored six runs on two hits, bringing the game to the final score of 12-2 for BMU.
Brody Kingsbury earned the win for the Bucks, allowing 3 hits and 1 run over 5 innings, striking out 9 and walking 1. Kane Knapp led things off on the hill for Paine Mountain surrendering 2 hits and 3 runs over 2 innings with 0 earned, striking out 2, and walking 3. Jack Keys took the loss for Paine Mountain in 3 innings surrendering 8 runs on 6 hits striking out 2 and walking 5.
BMU senior William Emerson said, “ We finished the job of building momentum leading into playoffs with a 10-run win”. The Bucks face the winner of Twin Valley and Poultney on Friday, June 6th.
