Kolby Nelson is a senior at Blue Mountain this year. She has attended BMU since Preschool and has grown up in the community. During her time at BMU, Kolby has participated in sports, the National Honor Society, band, Student Council, Global Explorers Club, and student government. She has participated in soccer, basketball, and softball and just finished her fourth and final year of varsity basketball at Blue Mountain. A fun fact about Kolby is that she is the Treasurer of Blue Mountain’s NHS Chapter, high school Student Council, and the Class of 2022. She is a leader in and out of the school as she was the captain of the varsity basketball team both junior and senior year. Some of her favorite sports memories include “playing at the ‘Aud’ with [her] sister” and most recently “playing in the VBCA Senior All-Star Game.” Kolby hopes to be remembered as “a positive influence and role model for younger students.” This fall, Kolby will be attending Quinnipiac University in Connecticut. She plans to study Diagnostic Medical Sonography and Mammography with a goal to complete a 3+1 accelerated degree program.

Kolby Nelson leaves behind a piece of advice for younger students: “Stop worrying so much about what other people think of you. Instead, think about what you want for yourself. I could have used this advice growing up.”
