BMU Freshman Use Zoom to Meet Author

On Wednesday, April 13th, the BMU Freshmen Academy class zoomed with Vermont Reads author Sarah Henstra, a Canadian professor and author of three books. This zoom meeting was part of the class’s Diversity unit.

Vermont Reads is a program offered through the Vermont Humanities Council. According to their website, “Since 2003, Vermont Humanities has invited students, adults, and seniors across the state to read the same book and participate in a wide variety of community activities related to the book’s themes.”

During this event, schools across Vermont had a chance hear a reading from Henstra’s book We Contain Multitudes, spoken by the author herself. This book is the first LQBTQ+ book that Vermont Reads has presented to Vermont students.
