Bucks Blow by Falcons in Varsity Baseball

RICHFORD – On Saturday, April 14th the Blue Mountain Bucks defeated the Richford Falcons 24-3 in Varsity Baseball. BMU took a commanding lead, tallying 10 runs in the first inning. Richford was able to put up one run in the first inning with a sacrifice fly. The Bucks sent senior RHP Cameron Dennis to the mound to start the game; Dennis went two innings, allowing one run on no hits, with three walks and one strikeout. Richford started C. Blaney, who went for one inning, allowing 10 runs on 6 hits, walking five, and striking out none. The Bucks’ offense looked strong, putting up 10 hits and drawing 16 walks, along with 8 hit by pitches. Junior Ricky Fennimore led the Bucks, going 3 for 3 with two doubles and a single. Senior Ethan Gilding went 1 for 1 with an RBI single.

The blowout win allowed the Bucks to give four different pitchers time on the mound, as well as ample time to substitutes at a variety of positions.  Blue Mountain remains perfect at 10-0.  They next face the Vergennes Commodores on Monday night.
