On Saturday, October 14th the Blue Mountain Union cross country team competed at Harwood Union High School. This race included middle school runners competing in a 3k (1.8 miles) and high schoolers running a 5k (3.1 miles). This race includes “Devil’s Hill,” one of the hardest hills that the runners face during the season. The middle school athletes started the day, with Blue Mountain’s Madison Frigon racing strong and finishing in 30th with a time of 19:59. Later on in the day the high school varsity boys ran; the Bucks’ Zhijie Zhong, getting a time of 29:37 placing 11th. Immediately following the boys’ race, the girls’ varsity ran with Lily-Ann Morgan and Nyx Desrochers of BMU both providing great efforts . Morgan placed 11th with a time of 32:17 hitting her personal record and Desrochers placed 15th with a time of 36:21. Blue Mountain Union’s next race will be on Saturday, October 21st in Stowe.
