On Saturday, October 21st, Blue Mountain Union’s Cross Country team was at the NVAC Mountain Division Cross Country Championships. Saturday had some of the worst weather Blue Mountain had seen at a race this year. This event featured a middle school race of 2.7k (1.6 miles) and a high school race of 5k (3.1 miles). The middle school girls competed with BMU’s Madison Frigon, posting a time of 15:11; good enough for 61st place and a new personal record. Next up, the varsity girls raced with the Bucks’ Lily-Ann Morgan, Nyx Desrochers, and Alexandria DeForge racing. Morgan placed 77th with a time of 36:20, Desrochers placed 73rd with a time of 33:22, and DeForge ranked 63rd with a time of 29:43 hitting her personal record. The final race of the day was the boys varsity race, with Zhijie Zhong competing with a time of 28:00 in 79th place. Blue Mountain cross country team’s last and final race will be on Saturday, October 28th at Thetford Academy.
