Bucks Defeat Olympians

WELLS RIVER – The Blue Mountain Bucks defeated the Oxbow Olympians 12-2 on Tuesday, April 18th. The Bucks sent Ricky Fennimore to the bump and he did not disappoint. Fennimore went five innings allowing no runs on only one hit, three walks and striking out five. The Bucks brought Kris Fennimore in the game to pitch the sixth inning, he would have some troubles, giving up two runs on one hit, four walks and one strikeout. Junior Hayden Carle was brought in to clean up and he would get two quick outs to get the Bucks out of the sixth inning with limited damage.
The Oxbow Olympians sent senior Chase Lund to the hill in their first game of the season. Lund got two quick outs in the first and then ran into a little trouble surrendering three runs in the first. Lund would find his stride and go 4 and 1/3 innings, allowing seven runs on three hits, five walks and fanning six. The Olympians brought Reese Ilsley in for relief. Ilsley went 1 and 1/3 innings giving up five runs on five hits, no walks, and striking out one.
The Bucks continue their hot start to the season on the offensive end, scoring 12 runs on eight hits. This makes the third consecutive game the Bucks have put up double-digit runs. Kris Fennimore led the charge offensively for the Bucks, going 2-3 with four RBIs and a double. Evan Dennis also had a solid night at the dish, going 2-3 and scoring three runs. Brody Kingsbury contributed to the Bucks offensive success with two runs and two RBIs. Brody Kingsbury states “I believe that our teamwork and our effort to work hard every day is what has contributed to the bucks hot start to the season”.
The Olympians had a quiet night at the plate with only two runs on two hits. Ilsley looked to be a tough out as he walked in all three of his at bats and scoring one of the Olympians two runs. Lund produced the other run with an RBI single down the third baseline.
The Olympians drop their first game of the season and host Lyndon Institute on Thursday, April 20th. The Bucks improve to 3-0 and host Thetford Academy also on Thursday, April 20th.
