Kurtis Brooks will graduate from Blue Mountain Union this June, and he has attended BMU since preschool. Kurtis has been involved in the Hospitality Club (senior year) and the Student Council (freshman year). The activity he especially enjoys is the Hospitality Club because he enjoys baking. His favorite high school memory is being surprised with an English award in his junior year. Outside of school, Kurtis enjoys hiking and hanging out with friends. If he had one wish, it would be to have a job he loves. The three words that best describe him are: friendly, polite, and optimistic. After graduation, Kurtis plans to earn his bachelor’s degree in Animal Science at the University of Vermont. In 10 years, he sees himself working directly with local wildlife or working as a zookeeper. The thing Kurtis will miss the most about BMU is the community. If there was one way he could be remembered, it would be as a good student who was kind. The advice Kurtis would give underclassmen is: “Try your hardest; you are capable of as much as you want to be.”
