Jamal Saibou will graduate from Blue Mountain Union, and he has attended here since pre-school. Jamal has been involved in basketball since first grade, and was named a captain in his junior and senior years. He has played football since 3rd grade. The activity he especially enjoys is football because he has built friendships that will last forever, and it has taught him a lot about life. His favorite high school memory is when he and the St J football team lost to Rutland early in the season, and then beat them in the semi-final. Another favorite memory that he had was when he met his now very close friends from St. J in his junior year. Outside of school, Jamal enjoys training for his future football career and hanging out with his family and good friends. If he had one wish, it would be to go back and win the high school football state championship with his best friends his senior year. The three words that best describe him are: respectful, resilient, and dedicated. After high school, Jamal plans to do a one year post graduate football program and then go to college to study criminal justice and play football. In 10 years, he sees himself getting his degree in criminal justice and playing pro or semi-pro football. Three things on his bucket list are: to get an interception in the national championship in college, and then get an interception in pro football. The thing Jamal will miss the most about high school is playing Friday nights under the lights during football season. If there was one way he could be remembered at BMU, it would be that he was very respectful to others, and he never gave up on his dreams and goals. The advice Jamal would give underclassmen is “never judge others because you never know what they are going through, always be kind and respectful to everyone, and always strive for your goals and don’t let others stop you from achieving them.”
