On Friday night the Blue Mountain Bucks played host to the Missisquoi Valley Union Thunderbirds in their last regular season game. While the Bucks celebrated senior night, it was the Thunderbirds who celebrated the victory. MVU lead 3-0 at the half on a goal from Alex Brouillette and a pair from Ava Hubbard.  The Bucks answered in the second half with goals by Krya Nelson and Karli Blood.  The Thunderbirds put it away with two more goals from Brouillette, completing the hat trick in the second frame.  Overall, MVU out-shot BMU 24-6 as the Bucks’ offense struggled to keep the ball near the Thunderbird’s net. Senior fullback Emma Dennis stated, “I think as a whole we played well; we could have done a few things better, but overall it was good.” After this loss, the Bucks fall to 5-7 and end the regular season as the 9th seed in Division 4.  The Thunderbirds end their season 10-3-1 and are the 7th seed in D2. The Bucks travel to Danville for a 3:00 pm playdown on October 27th.
