Blue Mountain Defeats Oxbow in Girls’ Varsity Season Opener

BRADFORD, VT.- The Blue Mountain Bucks started their 2021-2022 season in fine fashion with a come from behind victory over the Oxbow Lady Olympians 47 to 43.

Early on it appeared Oxbow had the upper hand leading by as many as ten, but the Bucks repeatedly rallied to keep the score within striking distance.  Oxbow held the advantage at the half 27-21 and continued to hold the lead through the 3rd quarter.  However, the final frame was all Blue Mountain, as they outscored the Olympians 21-7 in the fourth quarter.  The Bucks’ Keegan Tillotson led all scorers with 15 points.  Jordan Alley tossed in 13 of her own.

For Oxbow, Maggi Ellsworth had 13 points to pace the Olympians. Emma Parkin added 12, eight of of those coming from the charity stripe.  Alexa Kosakowski contributed with seven points.

Blue Mountain (1-0) gets back to work on Tuesday the 14th as they travel to Rivendell Academy.  On Friday the 17th they host their cross-river rival, the Woodsville Engineers.  The Friday home-opener will be broadcast live on BNN’s YouTube channel.
