WELLS RIVER- Blue Mountain breezed past the Twinfield Trojans with a 51-9 rout at the Dr. Harry M. Rowe Gymnasium.  The two squads had met twice during the regular season with each contest going to Blue Mountain in a similar lop-sided fashion.  As in their regular-season matchups, the Bucks never really let the Trojans get their offense going, allowing only 2 or 3 points in each quarter.  The Bucks employed several defensive looks but it was their 1-2-1-1 zone press that gave the Trojans fits.  Numerous turnovers in the backcourt fueled the BMU offense.

Sophomore sensation Jordan Alley gave the Bucks a quick start with 7 of her 12 points in the first quarter.  Alley spent the 2nd and 3rd quarters distributing the ball to her teammates and they responded with 14 points in each frame.  The balanced scoring from the Bucks saw nine different players in the scoring column.  In addition to Alley’s 12 points, Karli Blood threw in 11 points of her own, nine of those coming from behind the arc. Kolby Nelson contributed with 9 points on the night. Keegan Tillotson and Lauren Joy threw in 6 and 5 points respectively.  Kyra Nelson, Emma Dennis, Emma Gray, and Maggie Emerson all contributed as well.

When asked about the game, the Bucks’ Karli Blood said “What a great win for our team!  We played the whole 32 minutes with 100% effort and truly played together as a team.  We are pumped up for our next game.” Ms. Blood and the Bucks will face Mid Vermont Christian on Saturday at 2 pm.
