WELLS RIVER- The Blue Mountain Bucks defeated the Richford Falcons 21-2 on Saturday, June 4th. The Bucks sent Junior ace Evan Dennis to the hill, going 3 and 1/3 innings, fanning nine, allowing no hits and walking four, and allowing two runs. In relief, sophomore Hayden Carle threw 2/3 of an inning, retiring one, allowing no hits, no walks, and no runs. Cameron Roy went out on the bump in the fifth inning, striking out three, and walking two. The Bucks’ pitching staff combined for a no hitter on the day.

The Falcons sent Junior Jonas Lagasse to the hill, going 3 and 1/3 innings, allowing ten hits, 17 runs and four walks, while striking out one. William Steinhour went 1/3 of an inning, allowing 1 hit, four runs, two walks, and retiring one. Mikey Cunningham went for 1/3 of an inning, allowing no hits, no walks, no runs, and no strike outs.

The Bucks stayed hot at the plate, with 11 base hits and 21 runs. Evan Dennis went 3-4 with a double and 3 RBIs and 3 runs. Cameron Roy went 2-3 with 2 RBI’s and 2 runs. Cameron Dennis went 2-3 with a triple, batting in 4 runs and crossing the plate 3 times himself. Blood, Fennimore, Gilding and Carle all added one hit apiece.

The Falcons’ first run was generated by four consecutive walks in the 4th inning. They added on a second run by stealing home in that same inning.

The Blue Mountain Bucks knock the Richford Falcons out of the D4 tournament and will host the Rivendell Raptors on Tuesday, June 7th in a Semi-final matchup.
