Bucks Fall to Oxbow in First Game of The Season

WELLS RIVER- On Monday, December 12th the Blue Mountain Bucks Hosted the Oxbow Olympians and lost 47-43. Blue Mountain had led by as much as ten points, with a score of 19-9 after the first quarter. Later in the game Oxbow clawed their way back and it became a back and fourth matchup. After the first quarter, the Olympians got things going to close a ten point gap and got within 4 points once the second quarter buzzer went off. In the second half the Olympians took the led, out scoring the Bucks 8-1 putting them up 36-32 going into the final quarter of play. The fourth quarter is where it became a nail biter, going back and fourth between the two teams. In the end, Oxbow was able to pull away with a 4 point lead ending the game with Oxbow on top with a score of 47-43. Oxbow was led by Kane Fuller-Penateer with 18 points and Maggi Ellsworth with 15 points. The Olympians used a height advantage to out rebound the Bucks and to also score the majority of their points from the paint. The Bucks were led by Lauren Joy with 17 points, all in the first half. Jordan Alley finished the game with 9 points and Kyra Nelson with 10. The Bucks fall to 0-1 to start things off and will host Rivendell on Wednesday, December 14th. The Olympians jump to 1-0 and will travel to Hazen on Thursday, December, 15th.
