On Friday, January 6th the BMU Boys Varsity basketball team the BMU Bucks defeated the West Rutland Golden Horde 62 to 21. The Bucks came out in the first quarter scoring 17 with the Golden Hordes scoring only 11. The Bucks came out strong again in the second quarter racking up 19 points and with impeccable defense, they held the Golden Horde to only 3 points in the second quarter. The Bucks ended the half on top 36 to 14. The Golden Horde were led by Garret Owens with 7 points. In the third quarter, the Bucks stood out putting up another 17 points while the Golden Horde only scored 2 points, making the score 53 to 16. In the final quarter, the Bucks wrapped up the game with the end result of 62 to 21. The Bucks’ offense was great with Evan Dennis putting up 19 points, Ricky Fennimore contributing 13 points, Kason Blood earning 9 points, Cedric Schafer with 5 points, Kris Fennimore with 7 points, Hayden Carle with 6 points, and Jamal Saibou and Ian Fraser earning 2 points each. The Bucks will play The Danville Bears away tonight, January 10th; West Rutland will play White River Valley away tonight.
