WILLIAMSTOWN – On Friday, January 6th, the Blue Mountain Girls Basketball team traveled to Williamstown and pulled off a 36-27 win against the Blue Devils. The Bucks found themselves down 6-3 at the end of the first quarter, but then secured a close lead for the remainder of the game. The Bucks held strong in the fourth quarter as the Blue Devils surged towards a comeback, but in the end, it was the Bucks that claimed victory with quality defense and some clutch buckets down the stretch.

The game was close throughout its entirety, but the Bucks never let up. For Williamstown, Destiny Campbell and Natalie Beliveau were the players to stop. They led their team in points having 8 a piece. For the Bucks, Karli Blood led her team with 11 points and Jordan Alley concluded the game with 9. Both teams were plagued with foul trouble resulting in frequent substitutions throughout each half. Jordan Alley, a Junior starter for the Bucks shared her overall thoughts on the game. “I believe we worked together really well as a team, especially on defense.  We were able to really shut them down and keep them to one shot a possession. I think we still have some little things to work on offensively, but I’m confident we’ll figure them out.” The Bucks will go into their eighth game of the season with a record of 6-1.
