WELLS RIVER- Tuesday Night the BMU Girls Varsity team took on the Williamstown Blue Devils and came out on top with a score of 52-43. The Bucks came out hot outscoring Williamstown 12-10 in the first quarter but then went cold in the second quarter only scoring 6 points. After the half, the Bucks’ offense recovered scoring 17 in both the 3rd  and 4th frames. The Bucks were led by Junior Jordan Alley scoring 17 points and going 3 for 6 from the charity stripe and followed by Felicity Sulham who had 11 points and also went 3 for 6 from the line. Williamstown was led by Destiny Campbell who had 12 points and went 3 for 6 from the line and Natalie Beliveau who had 8 points and went 4-6 from the line.

Sulham had this to say about the Buck’s performance “looking back at the game against Williamstown on their home court, we knew that they were going to come back for that win. We knew we had to push forward despite not having a full team, and that’s exactly what we did. We played our best and the outcome showed.” The Bucks of course not having starting guard Lauren Joy due to an injury she suffered during the Danville game. Joy has been an integral part of the team putting up consistent numbers this season, and setting an example for the younger team members. The team hopes to have her back for the February 7th contest at BFA-Fairfax.
