WELLS RIVER-  On Thursday February 2nd, the Blue Mountain Girls Varsity team hosted the Hazen Wildcats and fell short with a score of 47-42. The Bucks were firing on all cylinders in the first quarter and enjoyed a two-point lead going into the second frame.  The second quarter started with Hazen shooting back with a 17-7 run to get the lead at halftime 26-17. The Wildcats never trailed again.

Caitlyn Davison led the Wildcats with 18 points, followed by Tessa Luther and Alexis Christensen with 7 points apiece. The Bucks were led by Jordan Alley having 15 points of her own and Felicity Sulham having 12.  Kyra Nelson was also in double digits with 10 points in the contest.

According to Alley, “I think we came out of the locker room knowing it was going to be a tough game, and our energy needed to be high.” Alley continues, “I’m excited to see how the upcoming game against them goes, knowing we are both two very good teams.”

After the win, Hazen climbs to a 14-1 record while the Bucks fall to 12-2. Hazen faces Stowe on February 9th, while the Bucks travel to Bellows Free Academy on February 7th.
