WELLS RIVER- The Blue Mountain Bucks squeak past the BFA-Fairfax Bullets to remain undefeated with a 4-2 win on Tuesday, May 10th. In this match-up the Bucks sent senior Evan Dennis to hill. He would go 6 1/3 scoreless innings, allowing one hit, five walks while striking out 12. Dennis had a no-hitter going into the 6th inning until Max Clark singled to left field. The Bucks’ starter hit his pitch limit in the 7th after getting one out and was pulled. The Bucks brought in sophomore Kris Fennimore who wasn’t able to close the door, surrendering two runs on two walks and no hits while getting one out. Junior Hayden Carle would come in to close out the game but not before giving up a two RBI single to Gabe Nyland-Funk. Carle would strikeout the next batter to end the game and give the Bucks their 12th victory of the season.

The Bullets sent Freshman Dylan Sicard to the bump, going 3 1/3 innings. Sicard would quiet the Bucks hot bats, allowing just two runs on two hits, five walks and one strikeout. The Bullets brought in Reagan Baumeister in relief, going 1 2/3 innings, surrendering two runs on two hits and one strikeout. Evan Fletcher would pitch the final inning for the Bullets, allowing no runs, no walks, no strikeouts and one hit.

Kason Blood led the way offensively for the Bucks with two hits and a run. Evan Dennis, Ricky Fennimore, and Brody Kingsbury  all chipped in with one hit apiece. This was the first game of the year where the Bucks failed to score double digit runs.

The Bullets drop to 4-3 and host Williamstown on Thursday, May 11th. The Bucks improve to 12-0 and have a week off before traveling to Danville on Tuesday, May 16th.
