On Tuesday night the Blue Mountain Union School hosted an NVAC Cross Country Meet.  The event featured middle and high school runners from Danville, Hazen, Lyndon Institute, Twinfield, U-32, North Country, and the host team, Blue Mountain.  Prior to the race, Blue Mountain held a short ceremony honoring the two seniors on this year’s team.  Mackenzie Carle and Kimberly Grant were each thanked for their contributions to Blue Mountain Athletics by the BMU Athletic Director, Todd Powers.  In the event program, both Carle and Grant thanked their respective parents, grandparents, and coaches for supporting their athletic endeavors.

In the Men’s 5000-meter varsity contest, James Cilwik, a North Country Union senior was the overall winner with a time of 17:46.  Katie McAlenney, a senior from Danville, placed first in the Womens’ division with a time of 23:49.  Blue Mountain’s Mackenzie Carle finished the race in 31:12.  Kimberly Grant finished a short time later at 36:35.  The Bucks’ Jada Longmoore (11th grade) and Hannah Desrochers (9th grade) finished the race at 40:40 and 40:48 respectively.

Next up for the Bucks XC Team will be the Twinfield Middle and High School Meet on September 28th.
