Russell Dickey will graduate Blue Mountain Union this June, and he has attended here since preschool. Russell has assisted in the front office during his junior and senior year, and he has attended Riverbend Career and Technical Center for Heavy Equipment the past two years. The activity he especially enjoys is welding because “you have to focus on so many different things, and you can clear your own head at the same time.” His favorite high school memory is about to occur: graduation! Outside of school, Russell helps with the American Legion and during the winter months he plows people’s driveways. If he had one wish it would be to have a better vehicle. The three words that best describe him are: goofy, mechanically inclined, and loyal. After high school, Russell plans on entering the workforce and working for Rotobec building grapples for log trucks. In 10 years, he sees himself still working for Rotobec. Three things on his bucket list are: to save enough money to buy a home, raise a family, and become a better, more productive version of himself. Russell will miss some of the faculty at BMU, and he wants to be remembered as “a stubborn but helpful student.” The advice he would give underclassman is “always pay attention, as there are things that might not seem important but are very important.
