Lydia Clough will be a 2026 graduate of Blue Mountain Union, and she attended here part-time her junior year and enrolled full-time for her senior year. Prior to her junior year, Lydia was home-schooled. An activity she especially enjoys is showing cows in 4-H because she gets to spend time with her friends and see her work pay off in the show ring. Whenever her busy schedule allows, Lydia likes to spend time with her family, whether it’s watching TV together in the evening or baling hay together in the summer. She has also played piano since she was six and enjoys playing for her church and the residents of a local nursing home. Outside of school, Lydia works at Agway, and she milks cows on the Nelson farm. After high school, she plans to earn a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science with a pre-professional focus. In 10 years, Lydia sees herself working as a veterinarian for local homesteaders and smaller farms. Three things on her bucket list are to receive her doctorate’s degree in veterinary medicine, save an animal’s life, while having as little debt as possible. The thing Lydia will miss the most about BMU is seeing her friends every day. If there is one way she will be remembered at BMU, it will be as Anna’s older sister. The advice Lydia would give underclassmen is to focus on their grades and their mental health over drama.
