Daniel Neil Gelsleichter/ (Danny Dogg) will graduate Blue Mountain Union this June, and has attended here since August, 2014. Daniel has been involved in Hospitality Club (2020-2026), Band (2025-2026) Chorus (2023- 2026), Baseball (2025-2026), and Basketball (2014-2026) at BMU. The activity he especially enjoys is Basketball and Baseball, because he has fun with his teammates on the court, on the field, and in the dugout. His favorite high school memory is every Spring Fling, Spirit Week, and Winter Carnival we’ve had. Movie nights at the school, and becoming Homecoming King, every Homecoming and Prom he’s attended, LBA, the Lunchtime Basketball Association we used to have, and every Fall Foliage that has ever been, especially riding our class’s float. Outside of school, Daniel creates rap videos on TikTok, plays Fortnite, and plays and watches basketball, baseball, and football. Daniel also enjoys watching movies and writing songs. If he had one wish, it would be to have gotten his driver’s license sooner and better grades. The three words that best describe him are: funny, kind, and legendary. After high school, Daniel plans to work at Walmart until his rap career kicks off or to work in the music industry. In 10 years, he sees himself living in Boston and working in the music industry. Three things on his bucket list are to: travel the world, attend a few concerts, and attend more sports games. The thing Daniel will miss the most about BMU is his friends/teammates and basketball and baseball season. If there was one way he could be remembered at BMU, it would be his big heart, his sense of humor, his rap career as Danny Dogg, as well as his half-court shot against Oxbow in his Junior year. The advice Danny Dogg would give underclassmen is: “A miss is a chance to improve and even when life drags you down; don’t sweat the small stuff.”
