Veterans Day Assembly at Blue Mountain

Evan Dennis, Managing Editor

Thursday, November 10th, Blue Mountain Union School celebrated Veterans Day with a school-wide assembly in the gymnasium. Veterans Day is a very special day when military veterans are honored for their sacrifices. Veterans Day takes place on November 11th every year because in 1918 that is the date that World War I came to an end after years of fighting.

This was the first Veterans Day assembly that Blue Mountain has had since Covid in 2020. The assembly opened up with the high school band playing. Next, 3rd graders Aiden James and Nicky Gardner led the school in the Pledge of Allegiance. After everyone was seated, Steve Wheeler came to the microphone and spoke. Mr. Wheeler is a Veteran that fought in Vietnam. He wanted everyone to remember and be thankful for all the veterans that fought for our country.
